Pairsine Food and Beer Pairing Competition
Last week, local Colorado chefs came together for a friendly food and beer pairing competition with Pairsine. Pairsine is a signature culinary event of Wine Country Network, Inc. It was a night filled with unique dishes, great beer, silent auction winnings and live music. Congratulations to Elijah Odell of Highland Tap and Burger who won the competition with his smoked leg of lamb, sweet potato masala, cilantro, papadum paired with Hop Box Imperial IPA from Joseph James Brewing and his steamed mussels, shallots, herbs, lemon zest, sea salt and potato chips paired with Nona (Belgian blonde ale) from Fate Brewing Company.
• People’s Choice Chef: Kyle McCune, Chef, The Tap Room at The Omni Interlocken Resort
• Best Chef Judges Choice: Elijah Odell, Executive Chef, Highland Tap & Burger
• Most Creative Chef Judges Choice: Drew Watson, Executive Chef, Hops & Pie
• Honorable Mention: Jonathan Power, Executive Chef, The Populist
A huge thank you to all the chefs who came out and participated in the event; it was a huge success and we could not have done it without all of you. It was quite the competition, with the best pairings Pairsine has seen yet!
